St. Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine offers students a veterinary medical education program focused on student success. With a student to faculty ratio of less than five to one, SMU students benefit from an unprecedented level of faculty support and attention. St. Matthew's state-of-the-art campus offers technologically-advanced classrooms, spacious study areas and student lounges, as well as excellent anatomy, histology, microbiology, and clinical skills labs. The entire campus offers wireless access to the Internet.

St.Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine has agreements with numerous colleges of veterinary medicine in the United States and Canada to provide the important bridge from academic settings to real-world settings. By working with fourth-year veterinary students in North America, St. Matthew's University School of Veterinary Medicine students will have direct contact with patients of a variety of species and will have access to state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technologies.

Through a series of clinical rotations in St. Matthew's University's mixed-track programs, fourth year students will be allowed to experience a wide range of small- and large-animal hospital situations and will be called on to integrate knowledge they have acquired during the preclinical years at St. Matthew's. Key areas of focus include professional judgment, teamwork, problem-solving expertise, and communication skills. Students will have St.Matthew's University oversight by U.S.-based staff during their clinical rotations to ensure a great transition from the Grand Cayman campus, and success in all post-academic pursuits.
